This game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds was tied in the 11th inning at GABP. Down to his final strike, Yasiel Puig drove a single up the middle (why was that even a strike) and then heads-up base running got him all the way around to score on this play. Christian Yelich and Eric Thames combined efforts to misplay what was supposed to be a casual throw into the infield and Puig broke for home.

It was said in the breakdown but people love to hate Puig for being pretty showboaty and eccentric, but he is a smart baseball player. Even though I certainly don’t think of him as one of the elite players in the game and I don’t hear anyone else really say it either, he has all the tools necessary and then he just goes out and makes things happen. It’s pretty cool. If he were on my team I think he would be my favorite player.
