This week we saw the newest Jordan Peele movie, Us. It’s hard to talk about the story and plot of ‘Us’ without spoiling anything, so I will just say that I loved everything Jordan Peele threw on the table BUT I completely understand why some people (cough @sheehan cough) didn’t. It’s not a horror movie in the sense that it’s scary but more so in that it has a frightening premise that requires you to suspend your disbelief and just accept that world which not everyone can or wants to do. The commentary on class in the movie was incredibly well done but leaves it open for you to enjoy it on a surface level or dive into everything Peele wants you to think about. Definitely a divisive blockbuster movie (cough @sheehan again cough) with a good healthy debate over meanings, ideas and more is outstanding for the world of film.
